A Paradigm Change Site on Pursuing a Healthier Life

Jay Davidson on “Human Parasites: Where Are They Hiding?”

Chiropractor Jay Davidson wrote a blog article called “Human Parasites: Where Are They Hiding?”

From the article:

The idea of having a parasite can be scary. But, rest assured, you’re not alone. Parasites are way more common than you might think. It’s inaccurate to believe that parasitic infections only occur in underdeveloped countries. A majority of people will have one or more parasites. As Dr. Todd Watts . and I like to say, if you have a pulse, you have parasites! Parasites can cause a wide range of symptoms, only a few of which are actually digestive in nature.

A parasitic organism lives in another organism, called the host, and often causes harm to it. The parasite depends on its host for survival. Parasites use their host’s resources to fuel their life cycles. Without the host, parasites cannot live, grow, and multiply. This is why they rarely kill the host–because they need to to survive.

Internal parasites are usually many times smaller than their host and reproduce at a faster rate. Only about 30% are visible to the naked eye. However, some parasitic worms can grow to over 30 meters long. Parasites are not a disease in themselves, but they can spread diseases. Different parasites have a wide range of effects in various parts of the body.
