By Lisa Petrison, Ph.D.
This page provides a summary of the case reports from some of the first individuals to respond to the Paradigm Change Coronavirus Covid-19 and Viral Illness Survey.
Individuals included on this page are those who reported that they had a fever of 100F or more without lung symptoms.
Patient summaries are arranged in chronological order by illness onset date. Patients with onset dates prior to December 1, 2019, are listed in the “Earlier Cases” section at the bottom of the page.
An overview of the initial summary results is provided on a separate Paradigm Change blog page.

Patient Number: 14
Current Condition: I feel totally recovered
Severity Score: 59
Time Since Onset: 105 days
Onset Location: Houston/Webster, TX
Prior Locations: Austin/Kyle, TX
Chronic Illness History: Mild
Onset Date: 12/17/19
Lung Severity: Not A Problem
High Fever: 101-102F (usually normal)
Bedridden: Totally bedridden
Relapse: I have experienced improvements without substantial relapse
Initial Symptom: Brain fog/concentration issues and fatigue (without any other acute mold exposure symptoms) bloated abdomen and stomach discomfort (this is not normal for me … seemed like maybe I ate bad food, but charcoal didn’t help). Very dull headache.
Very Severe Symptoms: Dehydration; Loss of appetite; Feverish feelings; Chills; Muscle aches; Pain when moving body parts; Weakness; Tiredness; Sleepiness; Generally feeling terrible
Severe Symptoms: Elevated temperature; Bone pain; Joint pain
Moderate Symptoms: Headache, Vomiting, Nausea, Abdominal pain
Mild Symptoms: Sore/painful throat; Difficulties swallowing
Not An Issue: Sore throat; Diarrhea; Blue lips or face; Runny/stuffy nose; Sneezing
Additional Symptoms: On my worst day it was difficult to move. I was too weak to lift a bottle of water to my lips or get up to go to the bathroom. All I could do was moan in pain or sleep.
Onset: I started getting symptoms in the Houston area, where I live. I had traveled to Austin, TX, 11 days earlier to visit a friend whom was working at a big convention with 2500+ North American attendees. We also went out to a couple restaurants and bars that were packed with people. I also work directly with the public while promoting liquor brands and handing out beverage samples … this happened 3-5 days before symptom onset.
