Up until just a few years ago, there were relatively few cream blushes on the market and almost everyone was using powder blush.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, though, cleaner cream blush is a very hot product category, with a wide variety of companies having recently introduced their own versions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Part of the reason for this is that cream blush tends to create a dewy, lit-from-within glow that is consistent with current makeup trends and that provides an appearance of good health.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fact that cream blush often works especially well on mature skin also may be contributing to its increased popularity, I think.<\/span><\/p>\n

So far I have tried more than 25 different cream blush products that I think might be worth considering by those seeking out cleaner makeup, and there are additional products out there that I also would like to try.<\/span><\/p>\n

My main takeaway from all this experimentation is that although some people may strongly prefer some of these products to others, it does not seem to be necessary for people to spend a whole lot of money to get a pretty and natural-looking glowy color on their cheeks. Most of the products listed on this page can successfully give them that.<\/span><\/p>\n

One problem that I have found with many of these products – including some of the most expensive ones – is that they do not last very long on the cheeks, though.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have come to think that my cream blush fades away far less if I put it on over primer or foundation, but most of the time I don’t feel like wearing those kinds of makeup products.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another thing that has worked for me is to buff the color firmly into my face with a brush and then to evaluate the results, adding more blush if needed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, I’ve found certain cream blush products – including the ones from Honest and Rituel de Fille – disappear less when applied to my cheeks than do others.<\/span><\/p>\n

While almost all of the cream blush products discussed on this page are promoted as being “multi-use,” I have not found that most of them work all that well for my lips. Many of these products taste quite chemical-y to me, and others just don’t look good as lip color.<\/span><\/p>\n

While some of these products might be okay to use on my lips in a pinch, the only one that I would consider purchasing just for use on my lips is the Jones Road Lip & Cheek Stick.<\/span><\/p>\n

The lip crayons seem literally based on the idea of what it would be like to do your makeup with a box of Crayolas.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product consists of small wax crayons that (like the Crayolas) are wrapped in printed paper and stored in cardboard boxes.<\/span><\/p>\n

They come in a variety of shimmery and matte shades that seem – at least in the shades that I tried (Cinnamon, Champagne and Caramel) – to give the face a sort of easygoing bronzed look.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fact that they are vegan, environmentally friendly and staunchly cruelty-free are also positives.<\/span><\/p>\n

The crayons that I purchased felt and tasted clean to me, and the product also has a reassuring ingredients list.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, they were so dry when I first received them (direct from the company) that I had to wear a lip balm under them.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although I only used them a few times total, within a couple of months they dried up even more, to the point that they broke into pieces and were unusable.<\/span><\/p>\n

I don’t see myself buying them again.<\/span><\/p>\n

This product (which was introduced by Beautycounter in 2021) currently is available in eight different colors.<\/span><\/p>\n

I purchased the Chai version, which is a dusty pink color that looks really nice on me.<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s a little less sticky than many of the other products mentioned on this page and seems to hold up pretty well.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, this is a totally matte product that makes it look somewhat less glowy (and therefore a little more traditional) on the cheeks than some blush products.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although the Beautycounter website suggests that this product can be used on the lips, I am finding that I do not like that look very much due to the matte aspect.<\/span><\/p>\n

This blush feels pretty clean to me with regard to lack of problematic toxicity issues. I do not detect any sort of appreciable amout of scent and the taste is not too bad.<\/span><\/p>\n

While refills for the product are available, I suspect it will take a long time before most people use this product up. <\/span><\/p>\n

With all the different pretty colors available, perhaps some people may want to switch out the shades for use during different times of the year, though.<\/span><\/p>\n

This cream blush was introduced by Bobbi Brown in 2008 or so, making it one of the more established cream blush products that I have tried.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bobbi Brown makeup artists frequently have suggested the product as the best choice for more mature women and Jennifer Aniston<\/strong><\/a> (who is in her early 50’s) shared her love of the product in a People<\/em> magazine article in 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

Like some of my favorite blush-to-cheek products (including the ones from RMS Beauty and Honest), this product has a bit of a putty-like texture that makes working with it feel easier for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although the formula seems a little on the old-fashioned side with many different artificial colorings as well as BHT in the ingredients list, a good thing about it is that it seems to have more staying power than many other cream blushes that I have tried.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product also includes unspecified and apparently synthetic “fragrance,” consisting of a mild baby-powder like scent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is not the most objectionable fragrance that I have encountered, but I prefer that makeup products not contain any synthetic scents since they are unnecessary and can serve as skin irritants.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although I have not personally noticed irritation when I have used this product on my cheeks, it tastes like perfume to me and therefore is not something that I would ever use on my lips.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I have the Powder Pink version, which is a slightly dusty\/brownish pink that works better for me than most other cream blush colors that I have tried.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Boom cosmetic company is based on the philosophy that older women look better when they wear makeup that brings out their natural beauty rather than covering it up. <\/span><\/p>\n

The centerpiece of the company is the Boomstick Color stick, which is designed to create a natural-looking healthy glow on the cheeks and lips.<\/span><\/p>\n

Until recently, the Boomstick Color stick was available in just one shade, a sheer brownish-red that the company suggests is suitable for all skin tones. (The Boomstick Rose Nude product – discussed below – was introduced in early 2022.)<\/span><\/p>\n

The Boomstick Color stick goes on quite smoothly, which probably is in part due to the presence of silicone (dimethicone) in the formula. It is a little on the hard side in the tube, which reduces the amount that people are likely to put on with just one swipe.<\/span><\/p>\n

I think the taste is on the chemical-y side and so would only use this product on my cheeks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although I usually seem to do better with muted blush colors (such as dusty pink or terracotta), I found that the Boomstick Color did not look too bad on me. It gave me a healthy-looking rosy glow, like maybe I had just come inside from playing in the snow.<\/span><\/p>\n

Even compared to other cream blushes, I do not feel like the color from Boomstick is very long-lasting. Probably it would need to be reapplied during the day to keep it from disappearing entirely.<\/span><\/p>\n

Personally, I am not sure that this blush color or look is ideal for me and so have only occasionally been using this product, but I can see how many women might find it to be perfect for them.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although this new Boomstick (introduced in early 2022) seems to have been positioned by Boom as just a new color in the Boomstick line, it actually is an entirely different formula than the original Boomstick Color product.<\/span><\/p>\n

I asked a company representative if the original Boomstick Color also was being reformulated and she said that she had not heard of any plans to do this.<\/span><\/p>\n

The new Rose Nude stick is somewhat creamier than the original Boomstick Color. I think that it works much better on my lips than the original version, both because of the texture and because the taste is much less objectionable to me.<\/span><\/p>\n

I also think that the lighter shade is more suited to my own particular coloring.<\/span><\/p>\n

With sunflower seed oil as the second ingredient, I am somewhat concerned about this version going rancid. I have not observed this happening yet, but this is a new release and I have only owned the product for a few months.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unlike most of the other products discussed on this page, the lip\/cheek sticks from Burt’s Bees do not contain any artificial colors or other non-natural ingredients.<\/span><\/p>\n

They also are more reasonably priced than many of these other products.<\/span><\/p>\n

I tried the Dahlia Dew color in this product, primarily because I wanted to compare it to the original Boomstick Color (a more expensive product that does contain some artificial colors and other potentially problematic ingredients).<\/span><\/p>\n

I do feel the brownish-red color of the Burt’s Bees product looks nice on me, giving my cheeks a healthy-looking glow.<\/span><\/p>\n

It does not go on as smoothly as the Boomstick, but it blends nicely and seems to last pretty long.<\/span><\/p>\n

The main issue with this stick is that it contains a goodly amount of the fruity-smelling “natural flavor” that the company uses in many of its other products and that some people find objectionable.<\/span><\/p>\n

I don’t like the taste of the product at all and so would not use it on my lips.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, the product contains “a hydrating core of coconut oil” that some people may find irritating.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, for many people who are looking for a product that will give them a fresh glowing look on their cheeks at a reasonable price, without exposing them to any artificial colors or other artificial ingredients, this could be a possible option.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although there are many Clinique makeup products that I would not choose to use, I am a fan of all of their Chubby Stick products including the blush.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a fairly creamy blush stick with a little bit of shimmer from the mica. It goes on pretty sheer but is easily buildable.<\/span><\/p>\n

Four shades are available. I have Amped Up Apple (peachy-pink) and think that it is pretty on me. All the other shades look considerably brighter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although this is not promoted as a lip product, I think that the taste is not too bad and that in general it works better on my lips than many lip-to-cheek products do (meaning that I might use it on my lips if I didn’t have anything better at hand).<\/span><\/p>\n

I have become a big fan of HAN, which sells a number of different cosmetics products using very high-quality natural ingredients at reasonable prices.<\/span><\/p>\n

This blush stick includes a variety of good oils and waxes (most of them certified organic), as well as only natural mineral colors and only natural scents.<\/span><\/p>\n

The oils used include shea butter, argan oil, castor seed oil, coconut butter and cupuacu butter. The scent is primarily from rosa gallica (French rose) and real vanilla extract.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have the Rose Berry shade and think it looks nice on my cheeks. It also has a lovely scent from vanilla and feels clean to me.<\/span><\/p>\n

While I don’t think I would buy this product just for use as a lip color, I think it looks and tastes okay enough that I might use some on my lips if I didn’t have another lip product readily available. The clean oils used in the product definitely are a plus when it comes to use on the mouth, too.<\/span><\/p>\n

This reasonably priced blush from Honest has a good reputation for providing long-lasting and high-quality color to the cheeks – so much so that it was what Meghan Markle<\/strong><\/a> used on her wedding day.<\/span><\/p>\n

An Honest customer service person responded to my query that the shade that Markle used – Truly Exciting – had been discontinued but that Rose Pink is close to it. That is a dusty shade that I have frequently used myself because it works well with my skin tone.<\/span><\/p>\n

The other three shades currently offered are a little brighter but also are very pretty.<\/span><\/p>\n

This blush products are mostly matte with a very subtle sheen. They give less of a glowy look to the cheeks than do some products, but I think the look is rather nice.<\/span><\/p>\n

I’ve found that the product is a little stiff but suspect that this putty-like texture is part of why the blush lasts for longer than most natural cream blushes. <\/span><\/p>\n

Especially during the winter months, I seem to do better if I put some of it on the back of my hand to let it warm up first before applying it to my cheeks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other than a few artificial colors, the product has what seems to be a quite clean ingredients list.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fruity type scent is derived from actual fruit extracts (raspberry, apple, blackberry and grape) and real vanilla extract, and I have found it rather pleasant.<\/span><\/p>\n

While the brighter shades look nice on my lips, I am not crazy about the taste of this product and also would prefer not to have to apply lip color with my fingers. I might use it in case of an “emergency” though.<\/span><\/p>\n

The container is metal rather than plastic (and therefore possibly better for the environment).<\/span><\/p>\n

On the whole, I think that this is an excellent blush product in terms of both the performance and the clean ingredients list, with the reasonable price being a big bonus.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have the product in Lady Bird (“neutral rose”) as well as in a discontinued bronzing highlighter shade called Summertime.<\/span><\/p>\n

These products seem to work well on my skin and to be pretty clean in terms of the ingredients lists. I am not detecting any noticeable scent and the products feel okay to me.<\/span><\/p>\n

I think that they seem to be rather similar to the Westman Atelier blush and highlighting sticks, except that the Ilia ones are a little stickier and seem to last a bit longer on the cheeks.<\/span><\/p>\n

The taste seems okay and I would not be too unhappy if I needed to use one of them on my lips, even though I would not buy them for that purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n

The initial versions of these new blush sticks from Jane Iredale (introduced in early 2022) all contained quite a lot of mica and were quite shimmery, to the point that many of the user reviews expressed sentiments along the lines of “I am 50 years old and don’t need shimmer in my blush, what is wrong with you for including it?”<\/span><\/p>\n

The company eventually released an additional five non-shimmery shades, though whether any of them would be especially good choices for me, I’m not sure.<\/span><\/p>\n

I received the shade Mist (“soft cool pink with subtle shimmer”) as a gift with purchase.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although the color of the product was way too cool to be suitable for my own complexion, I liked the product a lot and did not feel that it was too shimmery to work for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

I did think that it appeared to be much more like a tinted highlighter than a traditional cream blush when applied to my skin, though.<\/span><\/p>\n

Personally, I am in agreement with (say) the Boomstick people that a little bit of shimmer can look especially nice on older women and did not think at all that the amount of shimmer in this blush stick looked inappropriate for any kind of day or night occasion.<\/span><\/p>\n

I also think that the product felt and tasted fine to me and that it did not irritate my skin at all. <\/span><\/p>\n

Apart from a few artificial colors, the ingredients list looks good to me.<\/span><\/p>\n

I therefore would be very interested in trying another shade of this product, either with shimmer or without.<\/span><\/p>\n

The description of this product reads, “Lip and Cheek Stick glides effortlessly onto skin for a lightweight wash of color, while nourishing the skin. Blendable and buildable. Use it on its own or layer for added payoff.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The Jones Road Lip & Cheek Stick is one of only a couple of lip\/cheek products that I have actually enjoyed using on my lips as well as on my cheeks.<\/span><\/p>\n

As of this writing, the product is available in eight shades. I have three so far – English Rose, Bright Coral and Chocolate Mocha.<\/span><\/p>\n

I think that they all look lovely on my lips and that they taste fine to me.<\/span><\/p>\n

They also look very nice on my cheeks, providing a wash of color that is brighter than what is provided by the Jones Road Miracle Balm products but that still seems somewhat muted and easy-wearing to me.<\/span><\/p>\n

That makes me think that perhaps I could wear all the other shades (even the bright pink) as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

The products have a simple ingredients list, with only the artificial colorings seeming to be of any concern.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have found the products to have no smell or taste at all, which I really appreciate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kjaer Weis is a high-end cosmetics company that focuses on unusually clean formulas and environmental sustainability, as well as performance and luxury.<\/span><\/p>\n

The company is especially known for its blushes, most of which have entirely natural ingredients and are certified organic.<\/span><\/p>\n

A few of the currently available shades (about a dozen) do include artificial colors, however.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although $32 does not seem to be an exceptionally high price for a blush, the amount provided is very small (less than half the amount of product of most of the other options listed on this page).<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, the price includes only the small metal pan of product without any case, delivered in a small and plain cardboard box.<\/span><\/p>\n

The “Iconic Edition” blush in a refillable metal case is $56.<\/span><\/p>\n

The company also sells a red cardboard case for the blush for $5, but it is only sporadically available and was out-of-stock when I decided to try this product.<\/span><\/p>\n

I therefore ended up not buying any case at all for the blush that I purchased. Instead, I put the pan of blush in an old magnetized Aveda compact, where it fills up only about half the space alloted for a cosmetic product and looks a bit forlorn.<\/span><\/p>\n

I chose a popular shade called Inner Glow (“light rosy taupe with irridescent sheen”). This is supposed to provide a lit-from-within natural-type glow – maybe too natural, since putting it on doesn’t seem to change the appearance of my face in the slightest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The product itself does seem to be clean and non-toxic and to go on smoothly, and so I guess I just need to try another shade. <\/span><\/p>\n

It does seem like I might enjoy using it if I had the right color for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

The description of this product reads, “A super blendable, skin-conditioning cream blush + highlighter palette in perfectly paired duos that give a dewy pop of color.”<\/span><\/p>\n

This is an interesting blush product that seems to me to be quite a bit different from most of the others discussed on this page.<\/span><\/p>\n

It seems considerably lighter and more emollient to me, going on almost like the Glossier Cloud Paints or other liquid blush.<\/span><\/p>\n

Four shades of blush as well as a bronzer shade in the same formula are offered.<\/span><\/p>\n

All of these come with a highlighter that is supposedly designed to complement the specific blush or bronzer color. I have found the highlighters to be fairly muted and to work well on my skin in combination with the blush or bronzer.<\/span><\/p>\n

All the products have ingredients lists that look pretty clean to me (other than a few artificial colors) and that have seemed to be fine in terms of not irritating my skin.<\/span><\/p>\n

The original blush shades of this product – Velvet Melon and 8th Muse – put just a very light wash of peach or pink color on my cheeks. <\/span><\/p>\n

While the product is to some extent buildable, the color for both of these seems much more gentle than what one might expect to get by applying most other cream blush.<\/span><\/p>\n

More recently, Kosas introduced “Intense” versions of both of these shades that, to my understanding, are especially designed to work well on darker skin tones. <\/span><\/p>\n

I tried the Velvet Muse Intense (bright peach) and it seemed too saturated for me to wear as blush on my own light skin.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, I have rather enjoyed using the Velvet Muse Intense as lip color and the original shades of the blush have been pretty on my lips as well. I\u00a0 have found the products to be quite hydrating on my lips and also to taste\/smell fine.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kosas also offers a bronzer set called Tropic Equinox in this line. I was surprised at how much I liked that shade and at how sophisticated it looked on me.<\/span><\/p>\n

All in all, this seems to me to be an interesting line of cheek\/lip products that may have some potential to be useful if they are met on their own terms rather than with the expectation that they will perform in the way that most other cream blush products do.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Merit Flush Balm is described by the company founder as being somewhere between a cream blush and a cheek stain.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product is in the shape of a wide ball, which seems to encourage me to spread it out a bit more on my cheeks rather than putting too much in one place.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product comes in five shades, all of which seem soft enough that they would look nice on me.<\/span><\/p>\n

I chose the shade Terracotta (“warm creme recommended for fair to medium skin tones”) and think that it looks very pretty on me in a muted sort of way.<\/span><\/p>\n

I don’t see anything on the website that suggests that this product should be used as lip color and I probably wouldn’t use it in that way. It does taste okay to me though.<\/span><\/p>\n

This product seems quite clean to me in general and I have enjoyed using it so far.<\/span><\/p>\n

The main issue that I see in the ingredients list is that it includes the fat preservative BHT, which is allowed in Europe but forbidden by Credo. The fact that the product has been accepted as Clean at Sephora means that BHT is supposedly less than 0.1% of the formula.<\/span><\/p>\n

I don’t feel that BHT is a big concern for me in cheek products and think that there is some justification in the use of it here since it may prevent the product from going rancid as quickly.<\/span><\/p>\n

These affordably priced cream blush products from Milani go on very sheer and look very pretty on my skin.<\/span><\/p>\n

They are made with a formula consisting primarily of synthetics, including some silicone (dimethicone). Four shades are available.<\/span><\/p>\n

In terms of the application, they remind me quite a bit of the Tarte Breezy cream blush, except that these are brighter jewel-type colors rather than washed-out desert-type colors.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have a Milani Cheek Kiss Blush Palette ($15)<\/strong><\/a> with three of these bright shades. <\/span><\/p>\n

Although the colors seem saturated on the pan, they go on so sheerly that they just give a wash of color to my face and therefore look nice on me.<\/span><\/p>\n

They do seem to be pretty easy to build up for those who would like more color though.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product also provides a very sheer wash of color on my lips that is rather pretty.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, I would not use the product on my lips since I don’t feel comfortable with how it tastes.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product does seem to be adequately clean enough for my cheeks and has not caused me any problems though.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although rose oil is listed as an ingredient, I have not noticed that this product has any particular scent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This product from Milk seems to look especially sheer on my cheeks but provides a dewy-looking glow.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although “fragrance” is mentioned in the ingredients list, the scent is light and not especially objectionable to me. <\/span><\/p>\n

I am not finding anything that suggests that the fragrance that is used is made only from botanically derived rather than synthetically derived scents.<\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps because of the use of the fragrance, I have found this product to be irritating to my lips.<\/span><\/p>\n

The company also specifically cautions not to use the product in the eye area, which also could be related to the fragrance issue.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I haven’t found the product to irritate my cheeks, though.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product is available in eight shades. I have the color Perk (“coral with shimmer”).<\/span><\/p>\n

Some of the other colors look quite a bit brighter and so could be more suited to darker skin tones than I think that this one would be.<\/span><\/p>\n

This product from Mineral Fusion is available in four colors – one that is a sheer berry color (apparently designed to be similar to Boomstick Color) and three that are are muted shades (pink, peach or bronze) with a slight shimmer. I have Terra Cotta (“peach with shimmer”).<\/span><\/p>\n

I have found this to be a somewhat unusual product because even though it seems like it should act like a typical cream blush, it instead turns into something that is extremely sheer and a little powdery as soon as it is applied to my skin.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, the product generally disappears entirely shortly after I put it on. Perhaps it would have a little more staying power if I were using a foundation or a primer, but that is not something that I really want to have to do just to wear this blush.<\/span><\/p>\n

If this blush looks this muted on me, with my relatively light skin, then I don’t think it would show up at all on skin that is any darker than mine.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although the product contains a few mildly problematic ingredients, it is EWG verified and feels\/smells okay to me.<\/span><\/p>\n

I do think it has a slight taste that I don’t like and also is not very attractive on my lips, and so I would not use it for that purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n

Even though the product claims to be “3-in-1,” I don’t like the way that it looks on my eyes at all and so definitely would not use it for that either.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Inner Glow Creme Pigment cheek\/lip products are richly pigmented and very clean in terms of the ingredients.<\/span><\/p>\n

They also have the potential of working well as eye shadows.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eleven shades are currently offered. I have tried several of these, including Lovesick (“dusty rose”), Delirium (“ripened nectarine”), and Eros (“rosy beige”).<\/span><\/p>\n

I especially like Eros, which provides a muted reddish-brown color to my cheeks that I think is very natural-looking and pretty.<\/span><\/p>\n

Like many other products from Rituel de Fille, these products are very strongly scented with natural lavender.<\/span><\/p>\n

The consistency of these products is less creamy and more firm than that of many other blush products, but they nonetheless blend easily into my skin.<\/span><\/p>\n

Almost every time I use an RMS Beauty palette (which is often), I wonder why it is that more companies do not offer similar products.<\/span><\/p>\n

The palettes provide a selection of four cream cheek products, in most cases a mix of cheek\/lip colors and highlighters.<\/span><\/p>\n

I think the Mini palette ($28) is especially useful, since it is small enough that it fits into even my most minimalist purse and provides an easy way to touch up my appearance on the go.<\/span><\/p>\n

The ability to try out a variety of RMS products in one set also provides a nice introduction to the brand to those who haven’t used it much before.<\/span><\/p>\n

Salt New York is a small company started by a makeup artist named Kiki G that offers some cleaner cream blush, highlighter, bronzer and foundation products.<\/span><\/p>\n

The products are all sold in pan refills and are intended for use in the company’s zippered 4- and 8-shade palettes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most of the blush shades seem to be frequently replaced with new colors, which may allow them to be more on-trend but also may frustrate those who have found shades that they like.<\/span><\/p>\n

I tried a now-discontinued shade and feel that it has worked fine for me without irritating my skin.<\/span><\/p>\n

This blush is part of Tarte’s Sea line, which is a group of products with less problematic ingredients that seems to have been developed largely to be featured by Clean At Sephora.<\/span><\/p>\n

I especially like the fact that they offer one of their colors in a smaller-sized blush that is more affordably priced ($14) and appropriate for travel.<\/span><\/p>\n

The full-size product<\/strong><\/a> ($27) is available in a total of three shades.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I tried the travel-sized blush in the available shade Pink Sky, a peachy\/pink color that works well for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

This product spreads on the skin easily and evenly, with a slighty slick feeling that I consider to be characteristic of the silicone (dimethicone) that is included in the formula. Virtually all of the ingredients are synthetics.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the inclusion of gardenia extract, I have not been able to detect any significant scent in this product.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product does not seem to be promoted for use on the lips and I wouldn’t use it in that way, even though the taste is not terrible.<\/span><\/p>\n

My skin seems to have done fine with it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tower 28 was launched in 2019 in Southern California by Amy Liu, a veteran of the beauty business and an eczema sufferer. The goal of the company is to create clean products at a reasonable price point, so that everyone can have access to them.<\/span><\/p>\n

So far the company seems to be a runaway success, and after trying their lip\/cheek product I can see why since the quality seems to me to be at least or good or better than a variety of other products that are considerably more expensive.<\/span><\/p>\n

It has my preferred “putty-like” texture that I think gives me more control in application and that holds up well, and the Magic Hour color that I have (“sun-kissed rosy nude”) looks nice on me.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is also one of the very few lip\/cheek products that I have tried that I think works reasonably well on my lips. It tastes fine and (especially if I put some lip gloss on top of it) looks nice.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product also has been fine for me in terms of not irritating my skin. It contains some artificial coloring agents but otherwise has a clean ingredients list.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although the container is on the small side, I think this is a reasonable price for the amount of product provided.<\/span><\/p>\n

No artificial colors or other synthetic ingredients are used, and the product rates as quite clean according to EWG criteria.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vapour has a program that allows samples of their products to be ordered for a small fee, and so I have tried out several different shades of this product. <\/span><\/p>\n

I think the colors that I have tried are all really pretty and am impressed that they are so attractive considering that only natural ingredients are used.<\/span><\/p>\n

I think the products go on my skin nicely and look pretty on both my face and lips. <\/span><\/p>\n

They have a pleasant fruity taste and smell, apparently from the fig oil.<\/span><\/p>\n

The only concern that I have is that sunflower seed oil is listed as the first ingredient. I therefore wonder how long the product will hold up before the oil goes rancid.<\/span><\/p>\n

I suggest making an attempt to use the product up fairly quickly rather than saving it for special occasions, therefore.<\/span><\/p>\n

I think that this formula feels really high-quality to me and goes on very nicely.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It also seems to hold up on my skin better than some other cream blush products that I have tried.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I especially like the line since several of the colors are quite muted and seem that they would work well for me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I tried the color Playground (“a mid-tone terracotta nude”) and think that it has been great at giving my skin some definition while not looking like I am wearing any blush at all.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The other shades are Knickers (“a light peachy melon”), Major (“a neutral pink flush”), Miniskirt (“a berry rose”), Rollerskate (“a vivid coral pink”), Fame (“a rosy mauve”), and Fever (“a vibrant poppy”).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Victoria Beckham line is stated as being about “clean beauty” and (apart from some artificial colors) the ingredients list looks good to me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My skin seems to like this product and definitely does not seem to be irritated by it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I have Rose, which seems to be the lightest shade on the website, and I found that it was a little more on the bright and the dark side compared to many other blush products that I have tried.<\/span><\/p>\n

I doubt that the other shades would work for me at all, therefore.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is my observation that this blush stick is a little on the hard side and that it seems to work better if I use my finger or a brush to apply it (rather than just wiping the stick on my cheeks). <\/span><\/p>\n

I do think that the product looks nice after some blending and that it lasts pretty well.<\/span><\/p>\n

I don’t much like the way that this product looks on my lips, and I also think that it tastes pretty chemical-y. I therefore would not use it for that purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n

It does not seem to have irritated my cheeks and has a fairly clean ingredients list, though.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although I probably wouldn’t buy this product again, I think that it could be a good choice for those who are looking for a brightly colored blush at a reasonable price.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a an expensive blush stick that uses what I consider to be basically clean ingredients, along with a few artificial colors.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is available in seven colors, all of which look quite ethereal and beautiful to me. <\/span><\/p>\n

I have tried the colors Chouchette (“a nude peach”) and Mimi (“tawny beige”) and think that both have been very pretty on me.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would not mind owning more versions of this blush since I think the soft colors would be well-suited to my complexion.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the downside, this product does not hold up as well for me as some of the other cream blush products that I have tried. <\/span><\/p>\n

If I were going to wear it all day to (say) an office, I would need to plan to reapply it at least once and maybe more often during the day to keep it looking nice, I think.<\/span><\/p>\n

That makes me think that I might use up this stick pretty quickly if I were using it as my main blush product.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although the product tastes pretty clean to me, I don’t much like the way that it looks on my lips and so have not been using it that way.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

About This Website<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Living Clean in a Dirty World shopping website is designed to provide guidance to those seeking out products that are relatively low in toxicity and that provide generally positive user experiences.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although the skincare and makeup sections have a particular focus on products appropriate for women who are in their 40’s or beyond, the information provided may be useful for other people as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

The products are curated by Lisa Petrison,<\/strong><\/a> who has been focused on helping people to improve their health by avoiding toxicity since 2008 and who heads the Paradigm Change organization.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her\u00a0Living Clean in a Dirty World blog site<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0discusses a variety of topics of relevance to those who are working to pursue a more natural lifestyle with less exposure to harmful toxicity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lisa is the author of several books, including\u00a0A Beginner’s Guide to Mold Avoidance<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(co-written with Erik Johnson).<\/span><\/p>\n

She also runs the Paradigm Change website<\/strong><\/a> (focusing on issues related to toxic mold illness) and the Mold Avoiders Facebook group<\/strong><\/a> (designed for the discussion of all topics of interest to those pursuing the mold avoidance approach described in the “Beginner’s Guide” book).<\/span><\/p>\n

Lisa was born in August 1964 and has yet to try cosmetic surgery, Botox or other cosmetic treatments requiring interactions with a physician, or beauty products containing retinoids.<\/span><\/p>\n

In her former life, Lisa worked as a business school professor, as a marketing consultant to a variety of large companies, and as a reporter covering the advertising industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

She holds a Ph.D. in marketing and social psychology from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University as well as B.S.\/M.S. degrees from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern.<\/span><\/p>\n
