Although I used liquid concealers when I was younger, most of the ones that I have tried recently do not seem to have worked as well for me as the concealer sticks and other cream concealers that I use regularly now.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most liquid concealers seem to me basically like thicker versions of liquid foundation and to be especially problematic in terms of emphasizing wrinkles and other textural issues that I may have.<\/span><\/p>\n

I feel that the cream concealers that I have liked allow me to address problem spots with more opaque coverage targeted in a pinpoint way, without the need for me to be adding any additional general foundation coverage.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most liquid concealers seem to be designed to provide sheerer coverage of larger areas and to be used in conjunction with foundation, on the other hand.<\/span><\/p>\n

I do feel, though, that the liquid concealers that I have tried have performed quite well in terms of not irritating my eyes or causing other kinds of toxicity-related problems.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, I have found a few liquid concealers – including the Kosas Revealer Concealer – to work well as eyelid primers<\/strong><\/a> for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

The new Typology concealer also has worked well for me in general, to the point that I can see myself using up the whole tube and then buying it again.<\/span><\/p>\n

While I don’t feel that I had any problems with this product irritating my skin, it has not worked well at all in terms of camouflaging the dark circles under my eyes.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, despite the inclusion of a silicone product (phenyl trimethicone) as the second ingredient, it seems to emphasize my wrinkles and make them look worse.<\/span><\/p>\n

The use of the reflective materials seems to me another drawback, since this draws attention to the areas of my face that I feel are more problematic.<\/span><\/p>\n

The description of this product reads, “A skin-smoothing concealer made with 90% naturally derived ingredients that visibly brightens dark circles and reduces the look of fine lines. Although the description states that this product reduces the look of fine lines, I found it to be unusually problematic in terms of making all texture issues on my skin – including fine wrinkles as well as pores – look much worse.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, the product contains quite a bit of shimmer (apparently from the mica mentioned in the ingredients list) that draws attention to all the areas that I am trying to conceal.<\/span><\/p>\n

While I am not opposed at all to having a bit of shimmer on my face, I think it should be in the areas that I want to highlight (such as on my cheekbones or above my mouth) rather than on my problem areas.<\/span><\/p>\n

While I wouldn’t exactly say that this product irritated my face, it didn’t feel as good on it as most of the other concealers that I tried.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the plus side, even though the ingredients list mentions a floral extract, I am not picking up on any scent here.<\/span><\/p>\n

The coverage level of the product is moderate. It dries down a little but still feels dewy on the skin.<\/span><\/p>\n

Probably it would be better on someone with younger skin without a lot of textural issues than it is on me.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product is available in 17 shades. I tried Light 2N (“for very light neutral skin with peach undertones”) and felt that the shade worked okay for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

This rather heavy concealer seems intended for those with significant skin issues that they are trying to cover up as well as to remedy.<\/span><\/p>\n

I thought that the concealer felt good on my skin and that it was not irritating at all.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, I found that the product settled into my wrinkles and exaggerated them, which is the opposite of what I need to have happening on my face.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, because of the skincare ingredients, the concealer remained oily enough that it did not work for me as a base for eyeshadow.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product is available in 18 shades. I have the shade C2.7 (“golden light medium”), which seems to be a good match for my summer skin.<\/span><\/p>\n

I’ve had a good bit of success with almost all the products by HAN that I have tried, and this oil-based concealer is included among those.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The product seems to disappear into my skin unusually well, without looking cakey or emphasizing my wrinkles.<\/span><\/p>\n

The formula includes a number of natural moisturizers and feels good on my skin.<\/span><\/p>\n

It includes a little bit of dimethicone (as the fifth ingredient), and I suspect that that is one of the reasons that it does not emphasize the lines or other texture on my skin.<\/span><\/p>\n

It doesn’t feel like there is so much silicone that my skin is unable to sweat freely, however.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product dries down reasonably well, but I still don’t think that I would use this as an eyeshadow base except in the case of an “emergency.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The product has a mild natural lavender scent that I do not find to be objectionable.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seven shades are offered. I have Fair Light (“fair to light skin with neutral or yellow undertones”) and think that it is a good match for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although this product at first seemed very similar to the HAN foundation, the fact that this one is based on water rather than oils seems to make it a little less appropriate for my own dry skin.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although it goes on nicely, I feel that even when my face is very well-hydrated, this one starts to break up a bit more, making it more obvious that I am wearing makeup.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product does include moisturizers and some hyaluronic acid, as well as a moderate amount of silicone.<\/span><\/p>\n

It has not seemed to irritate my face at all, nor has it made my wrinkles look substantially worse.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since Honest’s primary target market is moms in their 20’s and 30’s, it does make some sense to me that this formula would be more appropriate for those with skin that is less dry than mine. I would think that the product might work well for many of these women.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sixteen shades are offered. I have Beige (“light skin with subtle peachy undertones”) and the color seems to be a good match for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a popular concealer that has gotten very good reviews from many beauty influencers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The product has worked reasonably well in terms of covering my dark circles, though not as well as the cream concealers (such as the Jones Road Face Pencils) that I have come to rely on for that purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n

It also has worked reasonably well on my face in general.<\/span><\/p>\n

I feel like it emphasizes the textural issues on my face to some extent, but that the problem is not nearly as bad as with some products.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is a slight natural herbal smell, but I have found it to be pleasant.<\/span><\/p>\n

I appreciate the fact that the product contains caffeine since this seems to be helpful for me in terms of preventing bags under my eyes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although this product seems okay as a general concealer, I haven’t used it very much for that purpose since there are other products that I like better for that.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, I have used this product frequently as an eyelid primer and now am keeping it with my eye makeup products to use exclusively for that purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have found that this product covers the discoloration on top of my eyes well and looks nice, and that it has not irritated my eyes at all.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product dries down well and holds up for quite a while, and the texture serves as a nice base for either powder or cream shadow.<\/span><\/p>\n

While I have found a few other products that also have worked for me as eyeshadow base products, most of them contain silicone (which I would prefer to avoid if possible).<\/span><\/p>\n

I appreciate the fact that this ones does not contain any silicone and that it has worked well for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a silicone-based concealer that also includes a few other potentially problematic ingredients, including laureth-7 (a surfactant) as well as phenoxyethanol and chlorphenesin (preservatives).<\/span><\/p>\n

However, I feel that this product has worked well for me, without causing any noticeable irritation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The silicone seems helpful in terms of allowing the product to provide good coverage without making my wrinkles look worse.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have tried using this under my eyes to hide dark circles, on my eyelids as a primer, and on the rest of my face as a concealer. I feel that it has worked pretty well for all of these.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product is available in 16 shades. I have the NW25, which is described as “mid-tone beige with rosy neutral undertone for light to medium skin.”<\/span><\/p>\n

This was the shade that a MAC makeup artist recommended to me in chat after looking at a photograph of me, suggesting that the slightly cooler tone would be especially effective at camouflaging my dark circles.<\/span><\/p>\n

I think that this has been an accurate assessment and that this product has worked pretty well for me both under my eyes and as an eyelid primer.<\/span><\/p>\n

The MAC numbering system is so counterintuitive that I would suggest consulting with a company makeup artist (either online or in a store) when choosing a MAC foundation or concealer shade for this purpose or any other purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would be somewhat discinlined to use this product every day because it is silicone-based and therefore does not allow my skin to “breathe” very well, and I have stopped using it very often now that I have found some other products without silicone that do as good or better job.<\/span><\/p>\n

I do think that it’s been a good product for me though.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, I have found that it emphasizes the texture on my skin quite a lot and makes my wrinkles look worse.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is a water-based formula and does not seem to get along that well with my skin. Maybe it would work better on someone younger.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product also has a pretty strong natural herbal smell that I have found to be a little odd in a concealer product.<\/span><\/p>\n

I tried Shade 30 (“fair with peachy, pink undertones; peach shade works well to cover bluish undereye discoloration”).<\/span><\/p>\n

This concealer offers moisturizing benefits, along with a minimal amount of foundation coverage and a slight shimmer from the mica in it.<\/span><\/p>\n

It feels very good on my skin and is not irritating at all.<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s my observation that (especially considering how little coverage the product offers) this concealer has a noticeable tendency to emphasize textural issues on my face and to make my wrinkles look worse.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although it is labeled as a “sheer brightening under eye concealer,” using it in my eye area does not work for me at all. It is not pigmented enough to cover my dark circles; makes the crinkles around my eyes look worse; does not dry down enough for it to serve as a good eyeshadow base; and draws unwanted attention to the area as a result of the shimmery mica.<\/span><\/p>\n

It works somewhat better to cover the redness that I sometimes get on my cheeks. For that usage, the slightly shimmery look is actually appealing since it looks like I am wearing a very low-key highlighter or just have a natural glow.<\/span><\/p>\n

Saie seems to be a brand that is targeted at very young women, with all the pictures of this product on the company website appearing to be consistent with that.<\/span><\/p>\n

I think that perhaps for someone who has generally very good skin with no textural issues, this product could serve as a nice “spot foundation” to blur and lighten slightly problematic areas just a little bit.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately it seems less appropriate for my own issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

This concealer contains a number of different silicone ingredients, which I would prefer not to have to use on my skin.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, in this concealer the silicone doesn’t seem to be adding that much to the performance since the product still seems to have a tendency to emphasize my wrinkles and other textural issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some of the user reviews also complain about the concealer oxidizing on the skin, though I didn’t really notice that happening.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the positive side, I do not feel that the product irritated my skin at all.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, it dries down totally and has worked pretty well for me as a base for eyeshadow.<\/span><\/p>\n

All 32 shades of the product are available in both full-size ($28) and mini ($12) versions. I appreciated the chance to try it for a more reasonable price.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have the color Light Sand (“fair to light skin with warm, golden undertones”), which is on the yellow side compared to most foundation\/concealer products that I have tried.<\/span><\/p>\n

The description of this concealer states, “Medium high coverage. Natural finish. Reduces dark circles and puffiness all at once. This is a French brand of skincare products that just started offering a few tinted products in 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There is now a U.S. website that accepts orders, with the products (at least so far) being shipped to consumers from France.<\/span><\/p>\n

I feel that both the foundation and the concealer have worked really well for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Typology concealer seems to contain more oil than most other liquid concealers and to blend into my skin well even if I am not wearing any other foundation products.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I feel that it offers substantial coverage without drawing attention to my wrinkles or making it obvious that I am wearing any makeup at all.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product seems to me to be moisturizing and nourishing, but it does not give my skin a shiny appearance or sticky feeling.<\/span><\/p>\n

I like the idea that it includes caffeine and other ingredients thought to reduce puffiness and dark circles, though I haven’t experimented with it enough on its own to make a conclusion as to how much it has actually helped.<\/span><\/p>\n

I think that the product works well in a variety of ways, including under my eyes and for general camouflaging of redness or other problem spots.<\/span><\/p>\n

It also works almost as well (or maybe just as well) as the Kosas Revealer Concealer as an eyeshadow base.<\/span><\/p>\n

The tube contains a generous amount of product and thus seems to me a pretty good value for the price.<\/span><\/p>\n

The product is available in six shades. I have Shade 2 (“light skin with pink, neutral or yellow undertones”) and feel that it has been a good color for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

This product comes in a small tube and does not really dry down after application, meaning that it is not very appropriate for use as an eyeshadow base.<\/span><\/p>\n

Especially considering that it does not contain any silicone, it seems to do a reasonably good job of camouflaging dark circles and imperfections without drawing extra attention to my wrinkles.<\/span><\/p>\n

It contains a little bit of shimmer from the mica in it, which means that I have needed to put foundation or powder on top of it to make it work for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

The concealer feels good on my skin and has not been irritating at all.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although there are some floral ingredients listed, I am not noticing that it has any kind of scent.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have the shade 3N (“fair with neutral peach undertone”), which is a good winter shade for me but slightly light for the summer months.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Living Clean in a Dirty World shopping website is designed to provide guidance to those seeking out products that are relatively low in toxicity and that provide generally positive user experiences.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although the skincare and makeup sections have a particular focus on products appropriate for women who are in their 40’s or beyond, the information provided may be useful for other people as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

The products are curated by Lisa Petrison,<\/strong><\/a> who has been focused on helping people to improve their health by avoiding toxicity since 2008 and who heads the Paradigm Change organization.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her\u00a0Living Clean in a Dirty World blog site<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0discusses a variety of topics of relevance to those who are working to pursue a more natural lifestyle with less exposure to harmful toxicity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lisa is the author of several books, including\u00a0A Beginner’s Guide to Mold Avoidance<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(co-written with Erik Johnson).<\/span><\/p>\n

She also runs the Paradigm Change website<\/strong><\/a> (focusing on issues related to toxic mold illness) and the Mold Avoiders Facebook group<\/strong><\/a> (designed for the discussion of all topics of interest to those pursuing the mold avoidance approach described in the “Beginner’s Guide” book).<\/span><\/p>\n

Lisa was born in August 1964 and has yet to try cosmetic surgery, Botox or other cosmetic treatments requiring interactions with a physician, or beauty products containing retinoids.<\/span><\/p>\n

In her former life, Lisa worked as a business school professor, as a marketing consultant to a variety of large companies, and as a reporter covering the advertising industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

She holds a Ph.D. in marketing and social psychology from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University as well as B.S.\/M.S. degrees from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern.<\/span><\/p>\n
