Poll Results: Antidepressant Usage

 

 

This was a poll that was conducted in the Mold Avoiders Facebook group in 2016.

Following are the question.

Regardless of whether you have ever used antidepressants, please participate in this poll. Choose as many items as you like. If you have items that you think should be added, please write them in the comments.

 

A total of 110 group members responded. Of these, 68 individuals (62%) reported having tried antidepressants.

The percentages following are of those 68 respondents who said that they had tried antidepressants.

 

54% – I have taken antidepressants and experienced negative effects as a result. (37 respondents)

44% – I have taken antidepressants and experienced positive effects as a result. (44%)

43% – I have taken antidepressants and experienced positive effects on my mood as a result. (43%)

40% – I have taken antidepressants, and they have made my mood symptoms worse or caused a general inflammatory flare. (27 respondents)

37% – At least some of the negative effects that I have experienced from antidepressants have been pretty severe. (25 respondents)

29% – I have taken antidepressants and they caused negative symptoms other than ones related to mood or inflammation, e.g. stomach issues. (20 respondents)

22% – I have taken antidepressants and they have helped a lot with my mood problems. (15 respondents)

21% – I have taken antidepressants and they have helped a little with my mood problems. (14 respondents)

19% – I feel that taking antidepressants may have been a trigger factor that caused me to get sick(er) over the long term. (13 respondents)

7% – I have taken antidepressants and they did not seem to do much one way or the other. (5 respondents)

4% – I have benefited from antidepressants in ways other than improved mood. (3 respondents)

4% – I have taken antidepressants but am not sure what their effects on me were. (3 respondents)
